Maafushi is one of the inhabited islands of Kaafu Atoll and the proposed capital for the Medhu Uthuru province of the Maldives. Maafushi is one of the biggest and most popular local islands in Maldives. It is located in South Male Atoll just 27 km away from Male. It’s around 1.2 Km in length and 0.2 km in width.
~How To Reach–
There are some options available for you i.e. Public Ferry, Scheduled Speed Boat Private Speed Boat and seaplane. So if you are traveling on budget then I will recommend public fairy which costs just $2 (INR 140) per person which will take around 1hr 30min to reach,,, and if there is no budget problem then you can go with speed boat which costs $20 (INR 1400) which will take 45min to arrive,,, if want to have luxurious travel then go with seaplane or hire a private speed boat for around $170.
One important information, if you choose public ferry then you need to take taxi costs around $5 from airport to reach public ferry point. And if choose speed boat then you don’t need to go anywhere from airport, you will get that at the airport.

6 km away from Maafushi another two local islands (Guraidhoo and Gulhi) are located, where you can be taken by local ferry running from Maafushi.
